School is out, and it's officially summer vacation! In just a few days, we'll be flying to Orlando, Florida. I'm hoping the humidity doesn't make me wilt too much, and that the thunder storms aren't too bad. We'll be spending some time at Universal Islands of Adventure, so I'm really looking forward to seeing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and especially Jurassic Park (I'm definitely wearing my t-rex necklace from Kate). I've only been to Orlando once as a kid, and I've been trying to figure out some fun things to do that aren't just theme park related. If you have any tips on where to go and what to do, I'd love to know about them!

ReplyDeleteHey lady!! You'll only be three hours away from me :) My husband and I go to Orlando a LOT! Besides the park there is Downtown Disney (which I know you have one of also) but there are two HUGE malls in Orlando. The Florida Mall (Affordable) and The Mall of Milennia (which is a bit more expensive). There is also an Ikea (big deal for me since we don't have one haha) and tons of touristy things. Honestly if you just hop on I-4 or International Drive there are tons of things to do!

ReplyDeleteI grew up in Daytona, so I am well acquainted with that area. There's Ripley's Believe it or not, WonderWorks, The Titanic Museum. There are a few things to do in Kissimmee. Of course the beach is only 30-45 minutes away. There are a ton of natural springs you can go to; the water stays 72 degrees year round and it's a bit different from the beach. There is Cassadaga, The Psychic Capital of the World. St Augustine is about two hours away and is always a fun day trip. Tampa is only 30-45 minutes away as well, and I love the Gulf Coast. Have fun!
