This is definitely going to be the best Halloween ever! Why? We'll be seeing Danny Elfman's Music from the Films of Tim Burton performed by an orchestra and choir! Best of all, Mr. Elfman will be singing Jack Skellington! In honor of the most fantastic Halloween, we had a little Tim Burton viewing party with our friends, and made Tim Burton themed cocktails. Here's what we came up with if you'd like to try them out.

The Beetlejuice
3 tbsp Midori
2 tsp Jägermeister
1 tsp Simple Syrup
Lemon
Gummy worms (optional)
This is basically a Midori Sour (one of my favorites) with Jäger and candy. Fill a glass with ice and add Jägermeister. Add ice, Midori, simple syrup, and squeezed lemon juice to a cocktail shaker and shake well. Pour into glass. You may add gummy worms for garnish and even drop some in if you want to get silly.

The Sparky (Frankenweenie)
1 part Peach Schnapps
1 part Sparkling Lemonade
Lemon
Combine Schnapps and sparkling lemonade and pour over ice in a glass. Add a squeeze of lemon. I wanted to light a liquor-soaked lemon wedge on fire to make it "sparky" but I couldn't get it to light! Kudos to you if you can get it to work, but don't hurt yourself!

The Corpse Bride
6 tsp Blue Curaçao
3 tsp Crème de Cacao
3 tsp heavy double (heavy) cream
This is just a Blue Lady, but it fit the Corpse Bride so well that I had to borrow it. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice, shake thoroughly, and strain into a cocktail glass.

The Pumpkin King (The Nightmare Before Christmas)
6 tsp Pumpkin Spice Liqueur
2 tsp Rum

Honestly I don't really know what I'm doing, I just make whatever I think tastes good. Let me know if you try any of these! If you need cocktail-drinking music, I made a mix called Spooky Tunes featuring my favorite Halloweenish music!
Now I'm going back to packing and working on my three (!!!) costumes for the weekend.

ReplyDeleteThese sound delicous! I love Tim.
ReplyDeletethese are so fun! i was at a local thai restaurant on Halloween and they were testing out their spooky drinks of the day. they were blood red or creepy green and then they dropped some dry ice in them so they looked like bubbly, steaming witches' brews! it was really neat. i'm a little behind reading this post but i'll still take a Beetlejuice stat!
