By The Seaside

I can't believe it's almost time for summer vacation! We only have a little over a week of school left, and things are getting pretty crazy at the library as everyone begins bringing in all of their books at once. Though we're not officially on vacation yet, we've already enjoyed one of my favorite summer activities, going to the beach and walking along the pier. Well, it always sounds like a lot of fun and then when we get there, it's windy as heck and I question my judgement. But it's still quite a nice view, though I might wish that I'd brought a parka.

We had a very delicious lunch at Chele's, which has perhaps the prettiest sign of any restaurant. Then we headed to the pier and froze ourselves a bit, and ended the excursion as all good days end, with ice cream. I kind of wanted to take that giant ice cream sign home with me. My mom actually used to work at that ice cream shop in her twenties!

The main reason for taking these photos was that Ellie asked me to contribute to her new zine, Perception Magazine, and I needed some summery photos to go along with the summer theme of the issue. The zine is full of great photography, art, and interviews, so I'm really pleased to be a part of it. I think I might need to get my hands on a printed copy! You can read the whole thing here.
